As president of Freedom Eco-Fiber Construction, Nina Munoz brings over 31 years of experience in the construction and telecommunication industries. Nina has displayed her versatility in these industries by participating in an array of projects showcasing her wide range of talents.
She served as a Journeyman Carpenter in Commercial Class-A concrete buildings, including 14 years with Tutor-Saliba Perini Construction, where she worked as a Foreman Carpenter. Further, she spent 4 years at Ceco Construction. Additionally, Nina has experience working with contracts managing internet infrastructures, specializing in internet typology and management. Furthermore, with Freedom Eco-Fiber Constructions, she will also be expanding into the food retail industry in Las Vegas for opportunities in building with the Krogan and Smith Grocery Corporate Chains.
Under her leadership, Freedom Eco-Fiber Construction hopes to establish itself as a national premier commercial contractor. We hope to be known for our commitment to diversity, quality, sustainability, and client satisfaction.
Nina is dedicated to serving her San Antonio community. As a Hispanic and Navajo woman, Nina was able to break through racial and gender barriers in her fields in 1982 by becoming one of the first female carpenters in LA. Thus, her experience has allowed her to profoundly understand the difficulty of being a minority in her field. Consequently, Nina’s passion is to bring light to marginalized groups such as women of color coming from low socio-economic sectors. She aims to empower minority women through practical education and training in specific trades so as to establish them with economic freedom through stable careers.
Nina has always believed in the power of charity. So much so that in 2021, she founded her non-profit organization called Texas Giving Back. Texas Giving Back focuses on empowering young minority women to achieve independent economic freedom by assisting in the development of their professional trades. Her dream is to open a training facility for young women that are in need of a better career to revolutionize the next generation.
At Freedom Eco-Fiber Construction, diversity is paramount. Nina’s appreciation for diversity of thought from individuals with diverse backgrounds has created a team with a large spectrum of experiences both professional and cultural. This in turn has made us a well-rounded team ready to accommodate San Antonio’s rich culture. This includes the ability to service Spanish speaking clients as well as English speaking clients as our team includes a native Spanish speaker with international distinctions in the study of the Spanish language in professional settings.
